AHR Consultants (AHR) were approached by a business with around 45 employees. Whilst the business had contracts of employment and some policies, they were out of date. The business also had frequent issues such as increased sickness related absences and poor performance.

The business considered the employees were not preforming to a satisfactory standard in their roles and that the issues collectively were having an adverse impact on the overall business performance and goals.

AHR provided the business with a lead consultant who was accountable for delivering a service to get the best possible outcome for the business. An online risk assessment was completed which flagged the areas where the business was exposed to employee risks.

In addition, a consultation was arranged with the business for the consultant to be able to gain a greater insight to the business, the issues it was experiencing, and to identify further gaps in their HR procedures.

AHR also reviewed the business’ contracts and policies and worked with the business to develop and deliver compliant documentation including contracts of employment and policies which in turn minimised the risk of such issues from arising again.

The business was provided with ongoing support from AHR via telephone, email and the online client portal, to manage the staff that were causing issues.

AHR’s approach resolved many of the issues that were impacting productivity and morale in the workplace. Having taken out Legal Expenses Insurance, the business also had peace of mind knowing AHR’s legal representation costs and award would be covered if an employee made an Employment Tribunal claim.
