During October, we were proud to participate in National Work Life Week, which is a health and wellbeing awareness campaign for employers.

As its name suggests, the campaign is all about celebrating the benefits of a healthy work life balance, which many people are now experiencing due to the effects of flexible and hybrid working.

At AHR Consultants, we have been trialling a hybrid model with all members of staff across our HR, H&S, and Office Support teams. Although the Covid-19 pandemic presented new challenges for everyone, we recognise that the ability to work flexibly brings many opportunities, such as enjoying more leisure time with family and avoiding the need to commute when suitable.

Thanks to our recent investment in cloud-based systems, we have continued to deliver our tailored, 24/7 advice service to employers across the UK, whether our team are working at home or in the office. With all this in mind, October’s campaign gave us a chance to reflect on our transition to hybrid working, which we celebrated in our quarterly staff meeting with breakfast for all who could attend.

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

As partners of CiC Wellbeing, we can offer your employees access to a 24/7 support service as part of our market-leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

Adopting an EAP is a great way to support wellbeing within your organisation, providing confidential advice, practical information, support, and counselling on a wide range of issues. This covers anything from bereavement, divorce, and mental health concerns to issues with stress, pressure, and change.

Mental Health First Aid

In recent guidance from The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and Public Health England (PHE), it was recommended that all managers should have the skills to support their employees with mental health concerns.

Whether your employees have experience of discussing wellbeing not, providing training is a great way to improve awareness within your organisation, while giving participants the confidence talk about mental health openly.

As providers of Mental Health First Aid training, we can help you to promote an open culture of mental wellbeing in the workplace, developed from a session which focuses on the specific needs of your organisation.

Managing flexible and hybrid workforces

Earlier this year, a study by the Office for National Statistics found that 85% of homeworking adults were in favour of a permanent hybrid working model.

Whether you have been utilising flexible working arrangements for some time, or you are considering a switch to the hybrid model, we would like to remind you that we are on-hand to provide tailored support.

This includes reactive support to help manage any incoming flexible working requests, as well as the proactive introduction of company policies and procedures for hybrid and flexible working.

If you would like to receive HR, employment law, or safety guidance on any aspect of flexible and hybrid working, call us today on 0345 076 2288 or submit an enquiry below.
