We partner closely with our clients to provide a service tailored to their needs no matter the challenge, covering the complete range of HR and employment issues throughout the employee life cycle. This includes general queries and employee relations, as well as strategic planning and interventions.

The Role

As an experienced, commercially focussed, and pragmatic HR Consultant you will be required to primarily:

  • Provide telephone and email advisory services;
  • Engage directly with clients on consultancy projects; and
  • Deliver a range of CPD accredited and bespoke training solutions.

You will have a dynamic and adaptable approach, with the ability to influence at all levels of business as our clients have varying levels of practical HR experience. Our clients are based throughout the United Kingdom so some travel may be required. 

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide pragmatic and legally complaint HR and employment law advice and support
  • To update and maintain accurate records and case notes on the CRM system in real time
  • To deliver consultancy projects and training solutions on-site with clients and prospects throughout the United Kingdom
  • Make regular contact with clients from a client care perspective
  • To undertake contract and handbook review activities for clients
  • To contribute to sales and marketing activity by drafting articles and case studies
  • To monitor developments in employment law and HR best practice to feed into HR alerts, website and social media outlets to promote AHR Consultants’ services
  • To review and update core policy and contractual documentation for the client base on an annual and ad-hoc basis as and when there are changes to established HR practice and employment law

Skills and Experience

  • Educated to degree level (preferred)
  • Graduate CIPD Membership (desirable)
  • Proven HR solutions management experience
  • Up to date HR best practice and employment law knowledge
  • At last 5 years’ employee relations/advisory experience essential (including work with Trade Unions – preferred)
  • Consultancy market exposure of benefit
  • Proven experience of using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven experience with HR/CRM software solutions
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to influence key decision makers
  • Excellent time/work management skills
  • Customer service focus and a proven ability to present as an authentic and credible professional whose knowledge of the subject matter stands up to scrutiny
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships remotely and to pitch delivery to all levels of organisational hierarchy in a broad variety of sectors
  • Ability to forensically analyse and interrogate appropriate details of an HR/employment law to determine the root cause of concern, identify risks and issues, and provide the appropriate advice to enable the client to make an informed decision
  • Proven ability to ‘think outside the box’ and not just rely on a script to provide the solution
  • Experience of insured professional services would be an advantage
